State Secretary de Watteville in Berlin

Bern, 13.12.2013 - Today, the new State Secretary Jacques de Watteville is paying an inaugural visit to Berlin. The topics under discussion at the Federal Chancellery, the Federal Foreign Office and the Federal Ministry of Finance include market access, international financial stability, European policy and tax issues.

While in Berlin, State Secretary Jacques de Watteville, Head of the State Secretariat for International Financial Matters (SIF) since 1 November 2013, will speak with senior representatives of several German ministries and offices about issues such as market access at the bilateral level and within the framework of the new EU directive on markets in financial instruments, MiFID II. Other topics include corporate taxation, which Switzerland is discussing with the EU and OECD, as well as tax administrative assistance and further bilateral tax issues. An exchange on the repercussions of the euro crisis and Switzerland's contribution to the stabilisation of the international financial system is also planned.
