State Secretary de Watteville in Washington

Bern, 02.12.2013 - From 2 to 4 December 2013, the new State Secretary for International Financial Matters, Jacques de Watteville, will be in Washington for an inaugural visit. The topics to be discussed with the International Monetary Fund and various US authorities include international financial stability, combating money laundering and tax issues.

State Secretary Jacques de Watteville, Head of the State Secretariat for International Financial Matters (SIF) since 1 November 2013, will meet in Washington with senior representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in order to discuss the state of the international financial system and further steps to stabilise the system. Talks on combating money laundering, the G20 agenda and tax issues are also planned with the US Department of the Treasury, the US tax authority (IRS) and the US Department of Justice.
