Entry into force of amendment of double taxation agreements with Romania and Republic of Korea
Bern, 26.07.2012 - The Protocols of Amendment to the double taxation agreements (DTA) between Switzerland and Romania and between Switzerland and South Korea have entered into force. They contain an administrative assistance clause in accordance with the internationally applicable standard. The Protocols of Amendment will contribute to the further positive development of bilateral economic relations.
Along with an administrative assistance clause in accordance with the internationally applicable standard, Switzerland and Romania, respectively Switzerland and South Korea, have agreed on a series of improvements regarding withholding tax on dividends and interest payments.
The protocol with South Korea entered into force on 25 July 2012 following the exchange of diplomatic notes, while the protocol with Romania entered into force on 6 July 2012.
In principle, the provisions of both Protocols of Amendment will apply from 1 January 2013.
