Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer's working visit to Federal Minister of Finance Olaf Scholz
Bern, 06.06.2018 - Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer paid a working visit today to his German counterpart Olaf Scholz in Berlin. Bilateral and international financial and tax matters were discussed at the meeting.
The meeting served primarily to intensify contact with the new Federal Minister of Finance Olaf Scholz who has been in office since 14 March 2018.
In the meeting between the two men, the global development of financial markets in particular was discussed. Switzerland and Germany share the same values: they are interested in sound budgetary policies, open markets and a stable financial system as a framework for sustainable growth. Both finance ministers underlined the good bilateral relations in the financial area and also discussed cooperation at the multilateral level within the scope of the G20 (Finance Track).
