Switzerland and France discuss bilateral tax issues of common interest

Bern, 05.11.2013 - Today, Switzerland and France officially commenced talks on bilateral tax issues of common interest. Jacques de Watteville, State Secretary for International Financial Matters, and Bruno Bézard, Director General for the French General Directorate of Public Finances (DGFiP), met for this purpose in Zurich. Both parties have agreed to pursue the dialogue.

This first meeting made it possible to lay the foundation for the tax dialogue announced on 11 July 2013. At that time, Federal Councillor Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf and her French counterpart, Finance Minister Pierre Moscovici, had met in Paris to initiate a dialogue between Switzerland and France on outstanding bilateral tax issues.

Both parties have agreed to proceed with regular exchanges on all tax issues of common interest.
