Platform for Collaboration on Tax

The Platform for Collaboration on Tax (Platform) is a joint initiative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the World Bank Group and the UN. It was launched in April 2016 in order to intensify cooperation between these International Organisations (IOs) on tax issues. On the one hand, its task is to deliver specific joint publications on national and international tax issues, e.g. toolkits, which can be used to tackle base erosion and profit sharing. On the other hand, interactions between the issuance of standards, capacity building and technical assistance should be enhanced. Finally, information on the International Organisations' activities should be exchanged in order to facilitate cooperation.

Switzerland supports the Platform within the framework of its work at the OECD and makes direct financial contributions.

The Platform held its First Global Conference on 14 to 16 February 2018 in New York and focussed on "Taxation and the Sustainable Development Goals". The conference is intended to encourage a global dialogue on the role of tax in achieving sustainable development goals between representatives of developing and developed countries. Furthermore, individual countries will share their insights and views on the challenges and opportunities tax systems offer to achieve sustainable development goals.
