Financial dialogue between Switzerland and Brazil

Bern, 07.11.2014 - On 6 November 2014, high-ranking representatives of the Swiss and Brazilian finance ministries met within the scope of their regular financial dialogue. The deliberations focused on an exchange of views regarding developments in the global economy and financial markets as well as on regulatory reforms under way.

The meeting served in particular to discuss the agendas of international financial bodies such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Financial Stability Board (FSB). In addition, current financial relations between Brazil and Switzerland, including issues regarding mutual market access, were also addressed.

The financial dialogue with Brazil began in 2012 and enables to strengthen the contacts between the authorities in charge of financial matters to be fostered and expanded. Since 2011, Switzerland has initiated regular financial dialogues with several G20 countries (Australia, Brazil, China, India, Russia, Turkey). These discussions facilitate the exchange of experiences and opinions and promote cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
